1. The service
Scriptura AI is a Bible-study web application at biblelabs.ai. It provides original-language study tools (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts with morphology, lexicons, textual variants, and cross-testament tracing), an English reading environment, a personal study workspace (projects, notes, a personal library tracker), and — on paid plans — AI-generated study assistance: a grounded question-answering companion and a draft Builder for sermons and papers. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Accounts
You can create an account with an email address and a password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address that you control, and you must be legally able to enter into this agreement. Notify us at biblelabsai@proton.me if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Plans, subscriptions & billing
The core study tools are free. AI features require a paid subscription — currently the Plus and Pastor Pro monthly plans — billed through our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your card details; payment information is handled entirely by Stripe.
- Metered allowances. Each paid plan includes a monthly allowance of AI usage (question turns and Builder drafts). Heavier features (for example, cross-checking or image transcription) draw more from the monthly allowance than a simple question. Allowances reset each calendar month and unused allowance does not roll over.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Price changes. We may change plan prices or allowances with notice; changes take effect at your next billing period.
- Bring your own key. If you connect your own AI-provider API key, those requests are billed by your provider under your agreement with them, not by us.
4. Refund policy
- First payment, 14 days. If you are unhappy with your first subscription payment for any reason, contact us at biblelabsai@proton.me within 14 days of that payment and we will refund it in full.
- After that: cancel any time, prorated by period. You may cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the paid billing period and simply does not renew. Renewal payments after the first are not refunded except where required by law.
- Refund requests should include the email address on the account. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- abuse, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts;
- attempt to misuse the AI features — including prompt-injection attacks, attempts to extract system prompts or other users' data, using the AI to generate content unrelated to the service's purpose, or circumventing usage metering or plan limits;
- scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the service's data or content by automated means, or resell or redistribute the service;
- use the service for anything unlawful, or in violation of the third-party data licenses described on our Sources & Attribution page.
We may suspend or throttle accounts that violate these rules.
6. AI-generated content
The AI features produce study aids, not authority. AI answers are grounded in the app's corpus of original-language texts, lexicons, and reference data, and every answer is provenance-labeled. Automatic grounding checks flag citations the system could not verify against the corpus. Even so:
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. It is not authoritative theological, doctrinal, or pastoral counsel, and it is not a substitute for your own study, your teachers, or your church.
- You should verify significant claims against the cited editions before relying on them in teaching, preaching, or publication.
- You are responsible for how you use AI output, including anything you publish or preach from it.
7. Intellectual property
- Your content is yours. You own the notes, projects, drafts, and other content you create in the service. You can export it at any time from your account, and you grant us only the limited license needed to store, process, and display it back to you (including sending relevant excerpts to AI providers when you use AI features).
- Scriptura Formal. The Scriptura Formal translation is an original in-house work, © BibleLabs LLC. Its Greek and Hebrew source text carries the STEPBible CC BY 4.0 attribution.
- Third-party corpus data (original-language texts, lexicons, the Septuagint, and derived datasets) is used under its own licenses, listed with required attributions on the Sources & Attribution page. Your use of exported data that includes such material must comply with those licenses.
- The service's software, design, and branding are owned by BibleLabs LLC and may not be copied or reused without permission.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that AI output, textual data, translations, or study tools are error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BibleLabs LLC and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages (including lost profits, lost data, or reputational harm) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time; deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk for us or other users, or where required by law. If we terminate a paid account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of the current billing period. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 6–9 and 12) survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of ⟦governing state — not configured⟧, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in ⟦governing state — not configured⟧, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will give notice — by email to the address on your account or a prominent notice in the app — before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
